DonateJune 2008 marked our 3rd anniversary. We believe everybody has the right to quality mental health care. Our vision is to be an organisation which develops and supports mental health nurses who work amongst disadvantaged communities. Over the past few years our quality, innovative services have earned significant media coverage through news stories on Channel 9’s “Today Show.” Ian W Webster, AO, Physician and Emeritus Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales stated: “ROAM Communities run by health professionals that have particular familiarity with the real life situations of the people it serves. Such familiarity and holistic approach make it well placed to really make a difference in the lives of people with mental disorders who are disadvantaged. I commend it to you as an organisation worthy of support.” If you are interested in supporting our work why not consider making a donation to the “ROAM Communities Gift Club.” This fund is managed by our board which is dedicated to seeding the establishment and support of Mental Health Nurses amongst disadvantaged populations. From the end of 2008 our board has guaranteed that the money donated to our in gift account will never be spent. Rather, the interest produced by the funds raised from a high interest savings account will be managed in perpetuity by our board so as to promote sustainable mental health nursing services that will make a lasting contribution to the needs of the people who are members of disadvantaged populations in third world nations and around the world. At the end of 2008 the amount of money in our gift club fund was $10,300.
